Social Work & Counseling

Olivia Lopez, LMSW

Hello DVOC Students and Parents,

My name is Olivia Lopez and I am the campus Social Worker for the Del Valle Opportunity Center. I have worked for Del Valle ISD for 1 year and have loved getting to know the community. I was born and raised in Austin, TX and stayed local to the Central Texas area for college, obtaining my degrees at Texas State University in San Marcos.

I have always had a passion for supporting individuals, especially youth. I believe that mental health access, building a strong community network, and advocacy for our students can make the difference in creating a positive school environment and preparing students for opportunities after graduation.

I appreciate students and parents making time to speak or visit with me about any celebrations or concerns.

Thank you for being a part of our OC family!

Veronica Natividad, Counselor

My name is Veronica Diaz Natividad, and I am so excited to be joining your campus as the new School Counselor this upcoming school year. I am a native of the Austin area but have lived in San Antonio for the past five years where I obtained my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. However, I need to mention that I am a Longhorn fan through and through as I also earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin. Hook ‘Em!

Over the course of my career, I have worked in Del Valle ISD, Austin ISD, and Northside ISD in various capacities. Del Valle ISD is where it all began in 2013 at Popham Elementary. It fills my heart to be returning to this amazing community. My career as an educator consists of 3 years in elementary education, 5 years in middle school, and 2 years as an instructional coach. Currently, I am entering my 3rd year as a high school counselor, a role I have embraced with integrity and dedication. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a passion for supporting students' academic, emotional, and social development. I strive to create a nurturing and empowering environment for all students, helping them reach their full potential.

I look forward to getting to know you all and working with you this year!
